Our backyard needed regrading & better drainage. Jacob provided a great drainage solution, a timely quote, and worked with us to add onto our project. While scheduling was busy for the spring, we were squeezed in before the heat to properly grow our yard from seed. His guys did a lot of work in 2 days: rebuilt a poorly constructed retaining wall, added catch basin, framed the back garden bed, planted a tree, & graded/seeded the lawn. After the late May rain, we have a green lawn & are very happy with the work that was done. Great communication through the entire process. Highly recommend!

Expert Retaining Wall Construction in Tucson, AZ
Retaining wall construction in Tucson requires more than stacking stone. Wolfberry Landscaping designs and builds walls that hold up against the real pressures your yard faces, including monsoon-season runoff, sloped terrain, and the caliche hardpan layers common across Tucson properties. We start with a site assessment to read your slope, soil type, and drainage patterns. From there, we plan the wall layout, prepare a compacted base, and build with proper drainage behind the wall to prevent water pressure from pushing the structure over time. Whether you need a low garden terrace or a taller slope-retention wall, we match the build to your yard's specific conditions. Every wall we construct is sized and positioned to redirect runoff away from your foundation and usable outdoor space. If your yard loses soil every monsoon season or you have a slope that limits how you use your property, a properly built retaining wall is a direct fix. Retaining Wall Construction FAQ
Common questions about retaining wall construction in Tucson, AZ.
Yes, sloped yards in Tucson are prone to soil loss during monsoon season, and a retaining wall stops that movement. It also creates level space you can actually use.
We assess your slope, drainage flow, and soil conditions before placing anything. The wall position is based on where runoff moves and where soil pressure is highest.
A properly built wall with drainage behind it handles monsoon runoff without shifting or cracking. Drainage is built into every wall we construct in Tucson.
Yes, many retaining walls in Tucson serve double duty as seating walls or raised planting areas. We can design the height and cap to fit that use.
Water pressure builds behind the wall and causes it to lean, crack, or fail over time. Tucson's intense rain events make drainage behind the wall a non-negotiable part of the build.
Yes, caliche is common across Tucson and affects how we prepare the base and plan drainage. We account for it during the site assessment before any work begins.
