Expert Planting and Botanical Curation in Tucson, AZ

Planting and botanical curation in Tucson means more than putting plants in the ground. It means choosing the right species for a desert environment that delivers summer highs above 110°F, alkaline soil with caliche hardpan layers, and annual rainfall of only 10 to 12 inches. At Wolfberry Landscaping, we assess your yard's sun exposure, drainage, and soil conditions before selecting plants. We match Sonoran Desert natives like palo verde, ocotillo, saguaro, and desert willow to the specific conditions of your property. We also arrange plants by water need, grouping species so your irrigation system works efficiently and nothing gets over- or under-watered. The result is a yard that holds its shape through Tucson's monsoon season and intense dry stretches alike. Whether you are starting from bare ground or refreshing an existing landscape, our curation process gives every plant a position where it can thrive with minimal intervention. Call Wolfberry Landscaping to schedule a site visit.

Planting and Botanical Curation FAQ

Common questions about planting and botanical curation in Tucson, AZ.

Yes, we select species proven to handle Tucson's summer highs and alkaline desert soil. Sonoran Desert natives like palo verde, ocotillo, and desert willow are built for these exact conditions.

No, we work around healthy existing plants whenever possible. We assess what is already in your Tucson yard and fill gaps with species that complement what you have.

Grouping plants by water need means each irrigation zone delivers the right amount of water to the right plants. This prevents overwatering, reduces runoff, and keeps your Tucson water bill lower.

Yes, properly selected Sonoran Desert natives hold their structure and color even during Tucson's driest months. Many species bloom in response to monsoon rains, adding seasonal color naturally.

Yes, we account for caliche hardpan layers common throughout Tucson when we dig and place plants. Proper hole preparation and plant selection prevent drainage problems that caliche can cause.

We work on residential yards across Tucson, from small front yards to larger multi-zone properties. If your space has sun, soil, and room to grow, we can build a curated plant plan for it.

Worked with us?

Our backyard needed regrading & better drainage. Jacob provided a great drainage solution, a timely quote, and worked with us to add onto our project. While scheduling was busy for the spring, we were squeezed in before the heat to properly grow our yard from seed. His guys did a lot of work in 2 days: rebuilt a poorly constructed retaining wall, added catch basin, framed the back garden bed, planted a tree, & graded/seeded the lawn. After the late May rain, we have a green lawn & are very happy with the work that was done. Great communication through the entire process. Highly recommend!

I can't recommend them enough! It was smooth sailing from start to finish. The initial contractors I hired were absolutely terrible, very long story for a different rating, but I wouldn't even let them finish the job. I found Wolf Pack and they saved the dumpster fire that the other company ignited in my yard. Very high quality of work, easy to work with, ahead of schedule, always available to answer my many questions, just all around a great experience

Our retaining wall and stairs desperately needed repair. Jacob was easy to work with and communicated with me throughout the entire process. They got everything done faster than I anticipated. We couldn’t be happier. *no landscaping was added per my request. I wanted to do that myself. Jacob did offer to come help me plan what to put in using a mockup on his tablet.

By far, exceeded our expectations. Execution and clean up were outstanding. We’ll be using Wolf Pack for all of our landscape endeavors.

Wolfpack was able to give me an estimate and complete work within a week to get my garden beds cleaned up from a summer of letting the weeds take control. They were very attentive to my flowers, will be having them come back next year.
